ÒRÍ MI

This art series delves into the intricate relationship between self-expression and cultural identity, blending visual abstraction with profound symbolism. At its core, the project seeks to answer a universal question: how do we wear our identity? Through cultural markers like clothing, symbols, and even posture, we tell the world who we are—yet so much of this language remains unspoken. The series invites viewers to explore these themes, not only through the lens of a singular culture but in a way that resonates across borders.

In Yoruba culture, the head—or Ori—holds spiritual significance. It represents destiny, inner wisdom, and one's unique path. But in the world we live in today, many struggle to embrace their Ori due to external pressures or a desire to conform. This series challenges that by encouraging us to wear our identity, boldly and unapologetically.
